About Me
Hello. My name is Heather Vlach. I am a Linguistically Diverse Educator at the International School Bangkok, an environment representing over 50 countries and 30 languages. I currently work with new language learners at the early childhood level. I also work with multilingual families to develop family language plans in order to build upon and strengthen the mother tongue in addition to supporting the academic language provided through the school environment.
My passions include traveling, teaching, and learning about cultural and linguistic diversities across our vast planet. It is my goal and philosophy to guide both my students and myself toward global citizenship through deepening understanding about ourselves and one another. Through this journey, we collectively explore our own teaching and learning styles, engage in metacognitive practices, reflect on our learning and instruction, create teaching points from our mistakes, activate the natural inquiry process within us, create collaborative and independent visions, and instill and foster a philosophy of lifelong learning.

Heather,
